The VENTRA MILITARY SERVICE PASS IS HERE The CTA and Pace are transitioning to VentraTM — the easy new way to pay for trains and buses throughout Chicago land. During this transition, we’ll be offering men and women in the U.S. armed forces an easy way to obtain a new Ventra military service pass, so they can continue to enjoy free CTA rides. Nov. 14th–15th and 26th–27th 8a.m.–4:30p.m. CHICAGO TRANSIT AUTHORITY 567 W. Lake St. Rooms A, B, C on 2nd Floor Chicago, IL 60661 After Nov. 27th Ventra Military Passes can only be acquired at: Ventra Customer Service Center 165 N. Jefferson St. Just outside CTA headquarters M–F, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Bring your current CTA military service pass to any of these events to exchange it for a new Ventra military service pass. If you don’t have a military service pass, please bring your armed forces ID and/or proof of compensation if you are receiving disability retirement pay of 10% or greater.  Thank You for Your Service  Your photo will be taken and your new card will be issued on site You qualify to ride free on CTA IF you are: • On active duty and in uniform. However, if you are on active duty but not in uniform, you must have a military service pass in order to ride for free. • Actively drilling national guard or in the reserves with an armed forces ID card. • A Chicago-area disabled veteran who has a qualifying service-connected disability, providing proof of compensation or are receiving disability retirement pay of 10% or greater. What you need to confirm eligibility: • For active duty military personnel, an armed forces ID card. • For disabled veterans, an official letter from the USDVA (United States Department of Veteran Affairs) indicating eligibility for a qualifying service-connected disability payment, along with a valid state ID card.
