The Vernissage at the Paris art Fair was a great event. The venue alone was worth the visit. The Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées, commonly known as the Grand Palais was constructed in the Beaux Arts style. Construction began in 1897 in preparation for the Universal Exposition of 1900. This World’s Fair held in Paris from April to November in 1900 was meant to celebrate the achievements of the past century and to accelerate development into the next. The Eiffel Tower was also constructed to be a part of this fair. The Paris Art Fair brings together 140 galleries from 20 countries with China as a special guest. It took me a while to adjust to the contemporary art featured in the show, but after a few deep breaths and a couple of glasses of champagne I got into the swing of things.
