The Vickers son was a proud and boastful lad that new nothing of honor among men. His rejection of his fathers work had left him a scornful and bitter soul. He would prejudge all the stood before him and usually caused them great pain by his rude and ruffian ways. Stark were the number of friends he had and less was the number of days of true rest he had gotten because he was always on the lark for those who he had scorned in his ruffian style of dealing with people. To say the least naira one of those who knew him liked him. That is all but the daughter of the town magistrate who had eyes for him. She dutifully over looked his brassiness and courted his soul to reason less say she saved him from himself. Bless be those who see beyond the facade of our inhumanity to love us anyway.
