The Victoria Park veteran community is set to benefit from improved services and support following the Victoria Park RSL Sub-branch’s successful bid for two Australian Government grants totalling almost $60,000. The organisation will receive a $50,000 grant under the Government’s Anzac Centenary Local Grants Program to assist in the erection of a Memorial Wall to honour those residents of the Town of Victoria Park who enlisted or volunteered for active service during the First World War. It will also receive a funding grant of $9,814 for the purchase of a refrigerator, an outdoor barbeque kitchen and furniture under the Government’s Veteran and Community Grant Program.
