The Voice of Expectation Ruth 2: 2And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter. “Let me now go to the field” There is a voice that arises from those dressed for the expectation of harvest that says let me go to the field!! The hearts cry of this voice isn’t one of procrastination but say “I will go now.” Jesus deals with the voice of procrastination with His disciples in John chapter 4. John 4:35 KJV) Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:36 KJV) And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. “Say ye not”- Jesus was concerned with their speech of looking down the road to another harvest when there was one right in front of them we must remember he had just finished His discourse with the Samaritan women at the well and there was many in the city that was going to be won to Christ from the seeds of the word of God planted in this woman’s life. John 4:37 KJV) And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. John 4:38 KJV) I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours. John 4:39 KJV) And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did. The opportunities are still there the harvest is still ongoing we just need to seek out our part in the harvest and say “let me now go to the field.” Our activity in the harvest requires a want to from our hearts because out of the abundance of our hearts our mouth speaks either “let me now go to the field” or “there are yet four mouths to harvest.” I remember when we were Pastors of a Church in Eastern Oklahoma the Church was in need of some abs pads for the parsonage. I went to the man whom they had purchased the parsonage from who was a mobile home dealer to ask him about purchasing these we could have easily afforded to purchase the abs support pads, all of a sudden I received some inspiration from the Holy Spirit the proprietor of this business was looking to put on a Christmas party for his employees, so I ask him if he would like the Church to fix the meal and them have the Christmas party at the Church and he said “yes” and he gave us the abs pads. That was not the harvest however the harvest was that after the Christmas party that our church prepared for them we went into the sanctuary and prayed for needs of the family represented from that business. I ended up being the company chaplain and spoke into their lives on other occasions. You see those abs pads were just the door way of opportunity that same as the well was for Jesus. The harvest is right in front of you there is a field ripened to harvest with expectation let us cry out “let us now go to the field.” Matthew 9:37 KJV) Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Matthew 9:38 KJV) Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
