More details of the incident seem to have only fanned speculations around the numerology hypothesis. The crashed airliner was produced seven years ago when it joined the Asiana Airlines air fleet. Its board number HL7742 also spots two 7s. That day, 77 South Koreans climbed aboard the doomed plane, alongside 142 travelers from China and Japan (1+4+2 = 7), 61 Americans and 16 crew (both equal 7 when summed up).
