The Voyager Golden Records were included aboard both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched in 1977. They contain sounds selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and are intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form who may find them. The musical selection features artists such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Guan Pinghu, Blind Willie Johnson, Chuck Berry, Kesarbai Kerkar and Valya Balkanska. The Voyager 1 and 2 probes are the farthest human made objects from Earth. Voyager 1 has reached interstellar space, the region between stars where the galactic plasma is present.
