The WAKUBA yemweyo Curse! Desparate for change that we never understood in full, we shouted Wakuba yemweyo (We will go for the thief candidate anyway) in 1994. This was apparent reference to Bakili Elson Muluzi who later became the first multiparty President in this country. We laballed the naming of UDF Muluzi as a thief not fit for the presidency as cheap propaganda. True to the the so called propaganda, Muluzi lived up to it. his administration was full of curruption scandals that involved political bigwigs. He was personally involved and a case still hangs over his head involving over a BILLION Kwacha. Since then, corruption has been swimming in billions. Despite the announced war against corruption the ZERO tolerance against corruption, Bingu wa Mutharika became a billionaire within a few months to the extent that he even doubted whether he was winning the battle or not close to his end. Audit report points out over 90 BILLION Kwacha missing again in 2010. Now the Cashgate of only 3 months (July-September 2013) had to pipe out over 13 BiILLION Kwacha now under Amayi Joyce Banda. It is a big joke if one want to sya Amayi is not another thief as Bingu and Muluzi were. These are political gurus who share some philosophy and origins. They are the same people. Today, we are making the same mistake. Joyce Banda Boma, yet she is a cashgate queen!!! Peter Mutharika Boma, yet a manager of corruption assets Atupele Muluzi Boma, yet using corruption oil for his campaign. Now what is it, tsoka chiayani? Out of all these candidates you only hope for the Corruption beneficieries to govern Malawi? Make no mistake!!
