The WARLORD tour is over, and there are so many great memories to sift through! The band was great and tight from day one. The crew was amazing and pulled off some amazingly quick setups! Yannis Papadantonakis is as pro as it gets and a great guy to have around. It was nice that we have a big love of Pink Floyd in common. The tour manager, Phoebus Dokos traded sleep for work at every turn, and opened up his house to us more than a few times when we were in Athens. Chris Del Grande was not only an amazing photographer, but a calm, soothing, intelligent presence and great person to have around. Stephanie was a fun person to have around, selling merch and helping the band in many ways. Thanks to Stelios Teselecta Pavlou for the oozo and air conditioned rides! Julez Kelly was a nice source of youth and energy for everyone. All of the shows felt more inspired when she was there. Thanks to all the very numerous Promoters, Sound and Light techs, and dozens of stage hands throughout the month. There would be no show without all of you! Sharing the stage with the talents of Angelo Vafeiadis, Paolo Viani, and Nicholas Leptos was special for me every night and it has become very rewarding for me to get to know them! I am happy to call them each my friend. Of course, without the pillars of this band, Mark Zonder and Bill Tsamis, there would be no band. Mark and I never had so many great laughs. After years of working in the studio together, it was certainly special to be on stage with him and his amazingly consistent tight drumming. Bills catchy, memorable classic riffs proved to be stamped with greatness each and every night as the crowd sung along. Bill is truly a great songwriter and a great guy. I thank them for the opportunity to share their lives and the stage for a month. In addition to that, I met so many interesting people, too numerous to mention here and now.. You know who you are, and we will remain in touch. I thank you all for the new friendships I have made, starting the first day I was there, and continuing right on through the fun people I met and sat near on the 9 hour plane ride home. If there was a theme to this tour for me, it was figuring out who I am, by the way of fostering friendships from those I met on previous tours, as well as making new acquaintances and friends. I will post more about that tomorrow perhaps! For now, I am happy to be home, and to have breakfast with my wife and son. I have a few hours to sort through my things before I start re-packing for a great gig here in the US. I missed my family, and friends, and am especially looking forward to getting right back on stage tonight for a special show with Jim Roberti and Paul Cipriano at SIAMSA, in Stroudsburg, PA, starting at 9:00. It is the 10 year anniversary event and I have heard from many local people who will be attending. If you are around, please come out and say hello and enjoy a great night. I look forward to seeing everyone. This really deserves a separate post, so Ill address it more a little later. I am sure this is my longest facebook post ever, even if I intended it to be short and to the point..... It is indeed, good to be home!
