The WCA finds it absolutely unacceptable that politicians like Tony Blair, who have defied international law by invading a sovereign country, shamelessly avoid their responsibility by invading Iraq in 2003. Result: the destruction of this ancient country, its civilization and people with little future perspectives. Partly thanks to this Catholic Christian, hundreds of thousands of Aramean Christians, including Chaldeans who are Catholics by faith, were targeted and were forced to escape from their homeland. In our view, the Pope should send a strong message to Blair by asking him to acknowledge and repel from his sins or be excommunicated from the Catholic Church. In some of our letters and press releases, we have stressed this point of accountability and the necessity to prevent the same mistakes from happening in Syria today. Isnt it odd and sad that those who keep fuelling such conflicts and are responsible for death and destruction always escape punishment? The world, including the Aramean people, needs to wake up, condemn proxy wars fought on the soil of independent nations and bring to justice those who are responsible for numerous crimes against humanity. independent.co.uk/news/world/politics/diplomats-call-on-tony-blair-to-quit-as-middle-east-peace-envoy-over-iraq-legacy-9558299.html
