The WTO agreement exposes the double standards of USA, which India has rightly vetoed. The USA wants India & the poorer nation to forsake its sovereignty & rights to meet the needs for food security of the poor, by capping its right to provide subsidies on food grains. This will ensure that the food grains (which in fact are heavily subsidized)from the West could be easily exported to India, thereby threatening our food security. The large farms of the West see over-populated countries such as India and China as natural markets for their excess produce and want an entry into these tightly controlled markets. As part of its pressure tactic, the US seems to have threatened the African nations to block their trade sops if they side with India .
