The Wal-Mart ATM strikes again! I tried to withdraw $300, and the machine spit out sixty $5 bills. Lovely. I went to stand on line at the customer service desk to convert it to 20’s and 50’s – you know, the way it should have come out of the ATM in the first place, and got stuck behind four gas workers, all wiring money to Mexico and Guatemala. I was on line for a full ten minutes. Kathy actually had time to check out, walk over and leave the cart with me, go back in and get something else and check out again before I was served. Seeing the stacks of hundreds the gas guys were pushing across the counter it occurred to me too late that I could have made the exchange with one of them instead.
