The Washakie County Conservatio District hosted a tour for DEQs - TopicsExpress

The Washakie County Conservatio District hosted a tour for DEQs Nonpoint Source Task Force last Friday to highlight several of the potential irrigation projects to be funded by their recently approved 319 grant. The tour stops included several field drains causing erosion thereby contributing sediment to reach Slick Creek and another stop included a streambank erosion project. Attendees discussed the different practices that could be implemented to improve Slick Creeks water quality. Other attendees included NRCS employees Laura Galloway & Katie Schade, WCCD Board member Cal Jones, and South Big Horn Conservation District representatitves. Our local landowners Steve Snyder, Jim Hefeneider, and Jerry Kysar explained some of the issues they were having at each tour stop.
