The “We Is” Africa Association WISAĀ® is a community service - TopicsExpress

The “We Is” Africa Association WISAĀ® is a community service organization serving the needs of families at risk. We are seeking funding, to assist us with the immediate goal, to open a homework center in Scorpion Village Carenage. Where; approximately 30 students would benefit from the WISAĀ® Redeemed Homework Center (WRHC) program dedicated to afterschool programs. However, “there are still” many children who need our services. Ministry of Education estimates that more than twenty thousand children need an afterschool program. Each weekday hundreds of children are alone and unsupervised after school; Students are at risk against tendency or inducement to violence and indiscipline behavioral activities. We hope to expand and reach out to some of these children. In order to continue our project we need $105,000 for; Computers, Printers, Books, Furniture, software, school supplies, toiletries and to provide meals for the children. We would be most grateful for your assistance in achieving our goal. If you are interested, we would keep you informed with regular updates on the progress of our project. (See attached for WRHC budget) WISAĀ® Redeemed Homework Centers (WRHC) The afterschool community provides a vital link between the school day and the families we serve. We communicate with the principals, teachers, and parents to make an extended learning day that is specific for the needs of our children and their learning communities. Learning continues after 3:00 p.m. in a unique style, different from the school day but in a high quality-programming model. These programs are the future for many children. They provide time for… physical activity and to learn about healthier lifestyles. We enhance their social skills and give them opportunities to explore math, science, the arts, and different career paths. We are helping to prepare them for the future workforce or perhaps a higher education. Our record has shown that we are an innovative leader, and our goals and expectations are to continue growing. We are a “model program in the afterschool community and welcome visitors from all over the country and worldwide.” Our vision and mission is A WISAĀ® (wiser) Non-Profit: that is a powerful force to break the cycle of poverty, enable self-sufficiency and create opportunities for security; Enriching the educational, social, and cultural opportunities for the students and the families of our community!” Please contact us at weisafrica@outlook or (868)395-9280/ (868)729-5017 if you are able to help.
