The Weekend Effect: One of the biggest errors I see with regards to nutrition if not the biggest, is consistency. People use steely grit and iron resolve to eat healthily until the weekend then in explosive fashion demolish 1000s of calories over the weekend and expect it not to have negative implications on their body composition. Your body will not magically accelerate to burn off the excess you consume just because youve been good all week and earned it. In order to achieve progress with regards to fat loss or whatever your goal is you must follow a set path and not deviate so drastically from it. If your body is used to 1000 calories a day its going to have no other option than to lay down bodyfat if you plough in 6,000 over a weekend. I understand people need a psychological break but one meal should suffice for this and not 3 consecutive meals crammed into one day!
