The Welders are huge fans of the seven principles of Kwanzaa: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba, and Imani. We’ve done our very best, in the two years we’ve been planning and working and making theater together as a group, to cultivate a sense of Unity. We’ve made Self-Determination part of our reason-for-being from the get-go. We run the entire company under a spirit of Collective Work and Responsibility, not to mention Cooperative Economics, and we always try to keep ourselves connected to our Purpose. Creativity, of course, is who we are. And we’ve embraced Faith, too: each in our own way. Happy Kwanzaa!
