The Wellington Salvation Army is asking high school and college girls to consider donating gently used or like new prom and formal dresses, shoes, and accessories. Items can be taken to the Salvation Army office, 181 East Herrick Avenue, during normal business hours, Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donated items will be used for the 3rd Annual Operation Fairy Godmother. This event will tentatively take place on Saturday, March 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wellington United Methodist Church. The Salvation Army can issue tax receipts to donors. The event is free and offers high school and junior high students an opportunity to purchase formal gowns, shoes, and accessories for much less than they would at a department or specialty store.
