The West Washington County Community Unit District #10 Board of Education met last Thursday night and Superintendent Scott Furhop says they tabled the presentation on the renewal of the Nashville – Washington County Enterprise Zone. The topic of snow days and being over the anticipated number of days was focused on having school on Casimir Pulaski Day, which the schools of the area of off on March 3rd. Furhop says they will have school that day instead of submitting for an Act of God day. There were a couple of points in the meeting where the Board discussed and voted on personnel moves. Furhop explains that this involved the Teacher Aide Reduction in Force list for this school year. It’s standard that they cut everyone and then hire them back. Also, the superintendent and 2 principals have been rehired for next school year. He also discussed that he will be meeting with various contractors about fixing minor issues with the building. They have gone back through since the construction was finished and found some things that need to be taken care of. Also, the senior trip to Washington, D.C. was approved for Easter break.
