The White Ghost problem for Zambian politicians: In Uganda, the Secretary general curse has persisted. In Zambia, the story is different. Zambia is one African country where political sobriety planted its umbilicus....When Kaunda was defeated, he struggled but accepted that the little Chiluba could become the first generation President in post colonial Africa, who replaced the incumbent without bloodshed....in most of the countries, political organizations that wrestled power from colonialists were simply changing leaders from within their Parties...Julius Nyerere has quit and in his place, Ali Hassan Mwinyi took over Chama Cha Mapinduzi (The Party of the Revolution) on 5 Nov 1985 in a very colourful event that was preceded with nervousness since Nyerere announced his retirement. Fast forward....Zambia did bequeath literally) the vacant throne to a caretaker Whiteman, Guy Scott for 90 days after the death of their President, the elderly statesman Michael Sata. Everyone in Africa has high expectations on Zambia because unlike Tanzania, Zambia has experienced change of regime from various Parties and political actors who have all maintained the integrity of the state of Zambia. So, Michael Satas Patriotic Front Party is the first to undergo its mini political tsunami. As we bear witness to the evolving situation, there was apparently a cabinet meeting in which 13 of 17 cabinet members attended without the President. They resolved to expel the acting president and to force him to resign. I think this is strange because in any country this could have constituted serious charge of treason against the 13 Cabinet Ministers. Maybe I am the only person in this world who would effectively and democratically govern a country for only one term....some people are just too greedy...Guy Scott, over to you.....dont lynch those greedy fellows....!!
