Insurance companies, have indeed sent out letters cancelling policies at the end of the year. This letter only applies to policies taken out before march 23, 201. All policies taken out previous t that point, can be carried as long as the policyholder wishes. Those people with non-grandfathered plans have a different scenario. They did receive the same letters, then they were offered to keep their policies through December of Next year - In some case December 1 and in others December 31. 2014. I think it is ridiculous that the White House didnt make this clear. A lot of people are upset. You can keep ay policy through the renewal date of next year. If you have a current policy, check with your broker to find out what your options are or call the insurance company. If you dont have a broker, I suggest you get assistance.
