The Wichita School Board has the opportunity to buck the national trend of closing schools in low-income areas and moving the schools to high-income areas of the city. Wichita has an opportunity to be national leaders in reversing this problem. The School Board must be urged to make this statement: “We believe in neighborhood schools and we believe in investing in low-income neighborhoods. We believe our investment in low-income neighborhoods will help lead to their revitalization as viable and working neighborhoods, to the benefit of everyone in the community. We vote to keep Southeast High School at Lincoln & Edgemoor.” Please call your School Board member and urge them to support Option A > keep Southeast HS at its current location.
