The Wild Ex-Capital Buses of Taiwan (台灣的二手公車):Take a quick look at these buses and you might not think twice about it. Five different buses, five different companies, in four different cities. But in fact, they were all acquired secondhand...from the same source. These were all originally owned by Taipei-based Capital Bus, built between 2000 and 2002, and phased out by 2010. Many of the ones that were granted life extensions as second-hand units were acquired by their new owners in 2009. There may have been other companies that received buses like these, I cant know for sure, because all these photos were taken within the past two months. One things for sure, they must have been reliable as all hell, to be so widely dispersed and yet still be in use. All that being said, their numbers are dwindling, though in some cases the buses replacing them are newer second-hand units from Capital Bus. Within the past two years, however, a competitor for the Wild Ex-Capital Bus has slowly arisen - that is, of course, the Wild Ex-Xindian Bus Fengrong Body Hino ERK.
