The Wilderness Experience: (Part 37) If your relationship with God is sound and suddenly out of the blues your business collapses or your investment in the stock market went up in smoke. Then you know you are under attack. But if your relationship with God is stale or deteriorating and your passion for the things of God is abating. At the same time your finances are under attack and has been for some time now. You need to pause and reflect; somewhere somehow you might have failed to be a good steward or walk in obedience. For some of us we could have gambled the house/car and lost everything. For others it might be tithing. You pay your tithe but you have not been diligent enough to check all the income you are receiving to tithe correctly. Or you might have taken a loan and failed to walk in integrity with your lender. If for example you owed somebody $500.00 and you got a bonus last month of a $1,000.00. Instead of giving something back to person who made the sacrifice to help you at the time of need, you went on a cruise or a shopping spree. If this is you, then you have not been a good steward and you need to take practical steps to get back on track. Luke 16:10-12. This is not a matter for prayer and fasting, so rather than waste time on your knees take my advice as a brother – take drastic steps to address the situation and be prompt about it. The very first step you need to take is to change your mind-set and there is no better way to do this than to spend time studying the Word and in fellowship with God. Trust me, you will get back on track before you know it. Unfortunately time and space would not permit me to look into other areas because the possibilities are endless. If however you don’t identify with any of the above areas, or you just can’t put your finger on where you might have gone wrong. Then this is my advice to you. Revive your fellowship with God, go on a soul winning spree, find someone or something to intercede for, or start your own charity. Give to those in need. Give until it hurts. God can’t help but notice. I pray that this week would be a week of reflection for you. May the search light of the Holy Spirit lead you to the areas that needs addressing in your life. God Bless You.
