The Will of the People Will Triumph – Hichilema Opposition United Party for National Development, UPND, leader Hakainde Hichilema says the will of the people will always prevail. Commenting on the arrest of 46 youths from ActionAid for wearing t-shirts bearing inscriptions that demanded the release of the draft constitution, Hichilema says President Michael Sata and his government will regret their actions. “Not even the use of arrogance of numbers will stop the will of the people,” he said in reference to the 67 government MPs that voted against an opposition motion seeking a roadmap on the constitution in Parliament on Tuesday. “Zambia needs a people driven constitution, no amounts of intimidation such as the arrest of the 40 youths will stop the push for a new constitution. “We demand a clear road, we demand a referendum commission, Zambia demands a people driven constitution.” President Sata promised to deliver a people driven constitution with 90 days of assuming office but has turned out to rubbish the process.
