The Winners List for the faces of Pakistan Competition - TopicsExpress

The Winners List for the faces of Pakistan Competition .... Firstly, I would Like to Give credit to Our Esteemed Judges for Their Choice of beautiful words to describe why the said were chosen and what made them Distinguished than the rest of other entries. At Number 1 we Have Bhai Khurram Shahzad and The Reason His Image got The Top Most ranking. Several words come to mind when taking a first glance at this one... innocence, Guardian Angel, Deprived, Oppression, Resistance, Determination. The subject in front seems so bold and ready to face the world.. that stare! looks straight into your soul.. she seems confident, determined to face whatever life brings... while the one in the back... is a typical child.. scared. Shy..not yet ready to face the harshness of life.. she feels comfort behind the older one...her guardian angel . I felt this was the most expressive image.. a true story teller.. I know it was not staged, perhaps the one who took did not intent to show what I felt.. but I just felt so moved by it... TECH vise, it has a nice rule of 3rds application.. the tonality is very pleasing... negative space does not feel vacant. The bokeh is nicely separating the subjects from the background.. overall very very impressive and expressive. At Number 2 we have Bhai Dr-Umair Wadood s Image A typical portrait of a “dadi amma” from our culture and heritage.. the stare is almost haunting.. the facial expressions are very natural.. does not feel posed at all even if it is.. The details and textures are very impressive.. the eyes are captivating. Although low key, but the subtle light really does give a distinct personality to the image.. the subject has a faint smile that radiates hope. At Number 3 we have Bhai She Raz Another classic baba ji portrait .. the wrinkles have countless untold stories that are etched on that frail face.. A tired expression, as if saying “YES! I’ve seen it all!All that life has to offer! And I survived it all.” The portrait is well lit.. low key.. but nicely composed. At Number 4 We have Bhai Aamir Shahzad Beautiful, classic and detailed. With most of the subject engulfed in black, it forces the viewer to stare endlessly in the darkness in search of more details.. that are not there.. yet it captivates you enough to demand another stare.. The gentlemen is scarcely lit, yet his personality shines through the dark space.. It’s a fully body portrait that is very nicely composed. Another untold story .. The single light source is used very efficiently. It does reflect our culture in a subtle way. Congratulations to All the Winners and We will Awarding the Digital certificates to The Winners Through Inbox on facebook and also announcing them here on the Group Wall.
