The Winona County Sheriffs Departments K-9 Officer, Cleo, is now outfitted with a brand new bullet and knife proof vest. Deputy Adam Carlson says the vest is valued at $950 and the donation from the non-profit group, Vested Interest in K9s Incorporated is much appreciated. Carlson says Cleo often is asked to go into dangerous situations that human officers try to avoid. The charity is located in Maine and its mission is to provide bullet and stab proof vests, to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The Winona Police Departments K-9, Neko, recently received the same vest from the group.
