The Winter Solstice All star systems have planets that experience various equinoxes and solstices depending on their orbit around their star or stars in the case of binary star systems. Every year around December 21st our star known as the sun (Ra) is farthest to the south directly over the Tropic of Capricorn. As sentient beings evolve, they begin to take note of the precise movement of heavenly bodies to calculate time and seasons. Our ancestors honored nature and celebrated these special times which were the original Holy Days (Holidays) before the advent of institutionalized religion such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
