The Wolf Spider and the Woodlouse. I captured an interesting exchange today between a spider and a woodlouse (which are not insects, but a species of terrestrial crustacean). Not many predators can penetrate the outer shell of a woodlouse and I dont think this spider was able to either - although she literally lifted the woodlouse up with her fangs to try to get inside. I watched the woodlouse for a long time afterward, and he seemed fine to me, so I dont think that the spider was able to make a meal out of him. I give the wolf spider an A+ for effort, though.
