The Women’s Vans US Open of Surfing Pro Junior completed two rounds, with Nikki Van Dijk (AUS), 18, and ASP Women’s WCT surfer Bianca Buitendag (ZAF), 19, leading the field to decide the event’s Semifinalists. Jovan Rebula followed an opening 76 with a disappointing 80 in the second round. Although the 16-year-old George golfer reeled in six birdies in the third round, his 71 fell one shot short of the 54-hole cut, set 10-over-par 226. David Meyers navigated the 7,197 meter layout at the tough Torrey Pines South Course in three-under-par 69 and moved towards the leaders with a second round 73. World Junior Golf Champs: he 16-year-old carded a third round 74 to finish within striking distance of the lead and closed with a final round 75 for a share of ninth. Meyers finished just eight strokes behind winner, Jose Mendez of Costa Rica, on a total score of three-over-par 291. SA looks to Le Clos to bring home some silverware. New charges in the Hansie saga.
