The Word For The Day “And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1Cor. 2:1-5. I am proud and honored to be able to share with you what God has put on my heart every day. In Acts 2 God said that he will pour out his Spirit on all men. I am amazed every time I read The Word For The Day because I know that only the wisdom of God could have allowed me to write what I share with you. I, unlike Paul have the advantage of today’s technology to share what I have learned about God, my savior Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. This convenience makes it easier for me than it was for Paul but I can empathize how he felt when Jesus revealed himself to him. Now armed with the truth, the knowledge and education he knew in regards to the law was now secondary. I can relate to his feeling knowing nothing “except Jesus Christ and him crucified”. When I sit down and have my quiet time with God I have no idea what direction I am going when it comes to sharing my devotional. I believe that the Holy Spirit guides me and brings to my mind words of inspiration, knowledge, encouragement, wisdom and truth. By no means do I compare myself to the writers of God’s Word but what I do appreciate is that he decided to use me to share what I know and love about him. I am one of many who love the Lord. Jesus said,” You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit”. Jn. 15:16. It is incredible to think that in some small way I am useful to God that others may read a much needed word from him through me. I am a college drop out. I have no formal training or writing skills nor do I have any work experience as a writer. What I do have is a love for God who has changed my life. I live in the moment as a godly man grateful for a 2nd chance to do something good in my life. If this is way of giving back, small as it may be, amen. To God Be the Glory! “Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.” 2Tim. 2:7
