The Word For The Day “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Eph. 4:3. My best friend and I were having a conversation the other day and the topic of salvation came up. Immediately what became obvious is that there was a difference in our point of view. I have heard many people say that the worst thing that you can talk about is politics and religion. I beg to differ. When God surrounds you with good people you can talk about anything without it turning into a back ally brawl, especially with spiritually open-minded believers. What I mean by open-minded believers is a Christian who is willing to listen to what you are saying without judging you so that there can be an attempt to come to some mutual ground. As the conversation continued I realized that in order to get understanding we had to go to The Word. After about an hour I learned that I have been judgmental in my view of other believers. I was reminded that God gave Jesus all authority in heaven and on earth not Kevin. Also when you’re around spiritually mined people the need to be of one accord (unified) is in direct proportion to being filled with the Holy Spirit. My friend was open-minded, patient and gentle with delivering the truth and I was a willing participant to listen. Every effort was made to be at peace with an understanding that God’s Word is the standard. Eph. 4:2 says it best, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” God is concerned with having peace and unity in the Body of Christ. That peace and unity starts with you. If you are not at peace with yourself unified with God how can you reflect oneness with God? Know God Know Peace. No God No Peace.
