The Word For The Day Restlessness, irritability and discontentment - TopicsExpress

The Word For The Day Restlessness, irritability and discontentment are symptoms of being stressed. The responsibilities of life are overwhelming. We live at such a fast pace that we don’t seem to have time to do much of anything other than work and take care of family. With an unstable economy many families are barely making ends meet. The demands of increased work performance produce longer work hours, which means less quality time to spend with the family. Living in today’s world is like being in a pressure cooker. You have so many things on your plate that you get to a point that you want to blow up. You think you can handle everything on your own so you hold everything in. You give the impression that you’re ok when really you are not. Pride will not allow you to ask for help. As the heat of life is slowly turned up you become depressed full of anxiety. You begin to have a feeling of hopelessness. Before you know it you have a nervous breakdown. Life is not worth living. All confidence and self-esteem is gone. You become nothing more than a shell of who you are. You live in a routine of just existing. I can relate to this scenario because I experienced being stressed out, falling into a deep depression and having panic attacks at the thought of going outside the house. I tried, but to no avail to get my act together. I felt like God had left me; all the while I had the answer to my problems. When you’re at a point in your life when you can’t see how powerful The Word is it’s hard to get out of that way of thinking. Like some people I saw the bible as just a book of stories. I had to get back to knowing that it’s more than just a book, it is a source of life to the man who believes. A powder keg of truth, wisdom and knowledge, its author is divine in nature and sovereign. The promises it holds helped me out of my depression. Prob. 3:5; Jn. 14:1 re-established my trust. Mt. 28:20; Heb. 13:5 gave me comfort and 1Cor.12:9 showed me that when I am weak that is when I am strong. I don’t have to bombard my problems with my will power all I have to do is pray and agree for God’s will to be done in my life. Once that is accomplished The Word becomes applicable. I have a better chance to seek his will instead of my own. It is a challenge to incorporate God in my day. I say this because living in Christ is not easy but it is rewarding. My worst day in Christ cannot compare to my best day in the world. My hope is that you embrace each day with an attitude of gratitude no matter what your day may bring. Jesus is Lord! To God Be the Glory! “Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.” 2Tim. 2:7
