The Word makes it clear who we are in Christ Jesus and we must understand it and live it daily. It is crucial to understand who we are in Christ…As Christians we know that the conviction of sin comes from the Holy Spirit that springs forth Godly sorrow which then leads us to repentance, but guilt and condemnation come from the adversary and if we allow him, it can lead us to despair, uselessness, self-pity, a feeling of worthlessness and a life of misery…compare and contrast… John 16: [8] “And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment:” (1) (Emphasis mine) Romans [8:1] “THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.
