The Word of God leads us to salvation so if you stay away from it you will indeed starve your soul. It pierces the heart and conscience to the deepest depths of our being and this area of our being is exactly where God will judge each one of us. As Jesus said, Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks so we will stand before God and He will probe our hearts to the deepest depths. Pray and ask The Lord for a new heart! This can only be acquired through the New birth which will produce faith and repentance in the person thats been regenerated. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
