The Work of Faith All works of the believer must be of God and through God. It cannot be our work. God doesn’t mix His own work with the work of man’s flesh. He leads us to the end of our works so we can let Him do His marvelous works. A life of faith is a life of self-denial. A work of faith is a self-denying work. We first must cease from our own works, and then wait for God to do His work. To cease from our own works is a work of faith. Faith is trusting, depending and waiting for God to manifest His work of healing, love, peace and restoration in our lives. Waiting for God to work takes place in our hearts, and is invisible. Ceasing from our own works is external and can be seen. This great work of faith ceasing from our own works cannot be done without God. We do not possess this kind of faith naturally; it’s given by God. Through the Word, prayer and fellowship with our Lord, we receive the faith that only He can be the author and the finisher of, from faith to faith. We receive the assurance that God will do the work. Our work is to believe in Christ. We rest from laboring with our natural strength and wait on His supernatural strength, from glory to glory! John 6:28-29 “Then they said to Him, ‘What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?’ Jesus answered and said to them, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He Sent.
