The World Bank has estimated that Environmental Degradation is extracting a toll of Rs.3.75 trillion ( Usd 80 Billion ) per year on the Indian Economy which is equivalent to 5.7 per cent of our GDP ! Also illegal sales of Wildlife Products including timber is the largest source of income for many terror / naxal organisations.
