The Woww Cafe -- Day #12 OF #21 -- 1/16/15 Unconditional Trust -- Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Wow, what powerful words! I love this entire Psalm for every line exemplifies the solid trust that David had in God, and the first line, actually says it all. This opening line already sets the tone for all that is to follow, and it describes the beauty of having trust in such a powerful and awesome God. David speaks with confidence as he shows us that he knows that God will protect him, defend him, provide for him, give him favor and and mercy, not only in this life but in the next. And he was right! This is the type of faith and trust in God that we are suppose to have. Thankfully, God is the same yesterday, today and always! God is not fickle, He doesnt change with the weather, He doesnt even change with our moods swings. He is always the same. He is always in the position of love, mercy, forgiveness and grace. He is always there for us, waiting to answer our prayers, waiting to bless us, waiting to give us not only what we need but also what we want and desire. God has unconditional love for us. We need to have unconditional trust in Him. This is what this Psalm is all about. It begins with a declaration and acknowledgement--The Lord is my shepherd--declaring who is in charge and who has all power and authority, then it continues to say I shall not want. Meaning that with God as our head, we will never go without, because God is fully capable of supplying all of our needs, and therefore, we will never have to want for anything. This is so true. We need to understand this and we need to put this faith in action. Psalm 23 is a very short Psalm yet a very powerful and revealing one, and just in case you do not have a Bible handy or dont know this Psalm by heart, I have written it below for you. Please read it, memorize it and meditate on it whenever it appears that all hope is gone. Hope is never really gone because God is always by our side and He is our provider. I pray you will remember to exercise your faith in God in tough times. He will never fail you. Trust in Him and He will reward your Faith. The Lord the Shepherd of His People A Psalm of David. 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Be blessed everyone! Trust God, unconditionally. Remember if He brought you to it, He will bring you through it! I am a witness and I can testify to that!! Amen!! Jenny Rosado The Woww Cafe
