The Wren School Public Consultation Process starts now! We are pleased to announce The Wren School Public Consultation starting with a public meeting at Reading Town Hall on 31st January, with a second meeting on 9 February. Everyone is welcome to come along, share views and meet our new Headteacher. Since forming in November 2012, we’ve notched up significant milestones along the way towards opening our new secondary Free School in central West-Reading. From a group of parents with an idea for a new school (and nothing else), we’ve enlisted the help of parents, politicians, pupils, residents, local schools and businesses, Reading Borough Council and its councillors and now, it’s time to hear from you! Our next milestone is The Wren School Public Consultation process, which kicks off with two public meetings as follows: Public Meeting Dates - 3pm, Saturday 31 January - 6pm & 8pm, Monday 9 February Venue The Waterhouse Chamber at Reading Town Hall in Blagrave Street The Public Consultation meetings are open to everyone to attend and have two purposes. The first is to share our proposals for the school with the community. The second is to ask the community to share views and thoughts on a wide range of features of the school, including vision and ethos, location, curriculum, size and admissions criteria. We want to hear from you because we want to create a school that works for children and for the local community. We’re inviting anyone with an interest to come along and share views which we’ll feed back to the Department for Education (DfE) before publishing on our website. Attendees will be able to put questions to The Wren School team (including our new Headteacher) and to complete a survey, the results of which will be shared with the DfE. We’ll be making the Public Consultation survey available on our website to coincide with the first Public Meeting on Saturday 31st January so if you can’t attend in person, you can still complete it online or you can call our office on 0118 958 5128 to request a paper copy. We’ve tried to make it as easy to attend as which is why we’ve booked the sessions at the Town Hall on a Saturday afternoon (you can pop in and have a cuppa with us while shopping!) and on a Monday evening. We’ve been listening to you all the way through this process and now you have an excellent opportunity to be heard by the Government’s Department for Education. Feedback will be given to the DfE in March and summarised on our web page shortly after. We hope to see you soon! wrenschool.org/content/wren-school-public-consultation-process-starts-now
