The Ximhungwe pride faced a daunting obstacle night before last. The mood was set by the full moon. After the pride had spent some time in the south they decided to cross back north over the Sand river. Two lioness and one cub crossed the river but a large crocodile emerged from the black water and followed the lions. The third lioness and 5 cubs scampered back to the safety of the southern bank. The crocodile stuck to its sinister plot and now returned to the southern bank patiently awaiting the marooned lions. After a while the last lioness bravely entered the river baring teeth and snarling, she made a quick run for it and avoided the crock, three of the cubs followed her and the crock took a snap at one but missed. The remaining two cleverly waited for the crock to loose interest and also made it safely no the north. As a result we only got back to camp at 22h00.
