The Young Communist League of South Africa-Greater KwaDukuza wishes to congratulate the SACP-Greater KwaDukuza on a succesful convening of its 1st District Congress, at the Ilembe Auditorium,KwaDukuza this past weekend, 22-23 November. We are particularly happy with the level of participation from Congress delegates coupled with the revolutionary spirit which lasted thoughout the Congress. This provided us with a glimmer of hope that indeed the Congress symbolises a beginning of a new era in the political space of Greater KwaDukuza. The YCLSA in its address to the Congress paid special homage to late comrades whose toiling efforts paved way for the long process whuch culminated in the eventual sitting of the Congress; The late, Cdes Jasper Manqele, Bukhosini, Nomtha Kunene , Elias Mkhabela and others whom contributed in the building of the SACP. The address viewed the Congress as significant, historical in the face of prevailing conditions which place the Working Class of the District at the face of an onslaught from various quarters some within the revolutionary movement. This pushes back the gains made by the peoples camp insofar as bringing about fundamental societal changes is concerned. As if taking heed to these calls by the YCLSA, the Congress deliberated intensively and comprehensively in characterising these alien currents which undermine the dignity and integrity of the revolutionary movement seen lately , with the manifestation of hostile tendencies from foes like Numsa and fascist elements like the EFF. Congress committed the SACP to being at the forefront of the fight against these afore-mentioned currents and other complications like under-development, corruption and poverty which continue to subject the majority of our people to squalor living conditions and perpetual social injustices. We are quite satisfied with the leadership collective which the Congress elected as is depicted below: District Secretary: Mbuso Khuzwayo District Chairperson: Nhlanhla Banda Sibiya District Treasurer: Mike Gorbachev Nkosi District Deputy Secretary: Phumlile Ntuli District Deputy Chairperson: Bhekizizwe Mzulu Khanyile Committee Members Thokozani Msweli Slindile Ngcobo Vincent VB Chili Thami Mngomezulu Mlamuli Ndlela Robert Zondi Busiswa Thusi Phumla Nongonywana Welcome Ntuli Thanduxolo Shangase Vuyo Mkhwanazi Elvis Dube New Mlondo Sbusiso Mbhele Khothokwakhe Blose We believe this leadership collective is well equiped to carry forward the mandate it received from the Congress. This entails the mammoth task of the SACP to locate itself strategically in ensuring that the left-axis remains united and committed to the objectives and goals encapsulated in the SACPs South African Road to Socialism. The Congress also re-affirmed its unconditional support for the ANC as we approach the 2016 local government elections. We are committed to our historical vocation of safeguarding the interests of the working class as being pursued by the SACP. We shall rally behind this leadership in ensuring that indeed the tasks Congress bestowed on it are executed most effectively, efficiently and timeously. We have utmost belief that, the District Committee shall propel the struggle forward as it assumes its historical role as the vanguard of the working class and in enforcing the effort for the consolidation of the progressive socialist forces.
