The Youngest Woman Ever Elected to Congress, 30-year-old Elise - TopicsExpress

The Youngest Woman Ever Elected to Congress, 30-year-old Elise Stefanik, Will Represent New Yorks 21st Congressional District Race. We Hope She Will Serve as a Role Model for Democrat and Republican Young Women. All the way until election day, Harvard-educated Elise Stefanik (R) maintained a near double-digit advantage over its oponent, Aaron Woolf (D) by campaigning on a center-right platform that was focused primarily on the economy, jobs, lower taxes, energy independence, sensible environmental protecction, less regulation, and greater support for small businesses. The MAHCC regrrets that both candidates failed to address other significant issues such as immigration reform, raising the minimum wage and improving education at all levels, including STEM and early eduation initiatives. Even though Ms. Stefanikdistrict is outside the area of the MAHCC, her campaign platform resonated with our Chamber and with the moderate conservative Hispanic community. Her campaign serves as a lesson to political parties that the Hispanic community does not like demagoguery and left or right extremism.
