The Zambezi Voyager left the Chobe River in the early morning hours at the end of September for its annual cruise up the Zambezi River to the Southern Carmine Bee-eater colony at Kalizo. On board were ten enthusiastic photographers who were to enjoy a two day cruise up the Zambezi. Along the way there was ample opportunity to photograph the various water bird concentrations on the river banks. We passed numerous African Skimmer colonies on the exposed sand banks. We found numerous juvenile birds, as well as many recently hatched chicks.
