The acquittal of the 26 men arrested in a Cairo bath house--and paraded half-naked through the streets--is now final. The government, which instigated the arrests under the cover of rightwing journalist Mona Iraqi doing an exposé, seems to have had second thoughts after an international outcry. And some of the men are looking to sue her and the officer who led the raid. Will this be Egypts Stonewall? Only if the protests against the mistreatment of LGBT people continue and build from within Egyot--and we on the outside keep paying attention.
