ADMINISTRATORS WILL ENFORCE THIS CODE EFFECTIVE JULY 23, 2014. The Secular Franciscan Order Facebook Group was created to bring together Secular Franciscans from around the world to aid one another on our vocation journey. In an effort to stay true to the original purpose of this group, and to maintain a positive direction, the following rules are being instituted. Please read over the list and type agree in the comments section. Those who do not agree will be deleted from the group. Members of this group are limited to those people who are seriously interested in the Secular Franciscan Order either as professed member, candidates, inquirers, or others who are in various stages of discerning a vocation as a secular Franciscan, or those who have appreciation and reverence for the way of Jesus Christ as seen through the lens of Saint Francis of Assisi 1) This is a site for the discussion and sharing of Franciscan interests. All posts must comply with the intent of this site, and all posts must be Catholic responses as taught by the Church. 2) Posts should be limited to Franciscan Order charisms and issues such as Fraternity practices, formation, and Catholic dogmas, doctrines, and practices as they relate to Franciscan charisms. Politics is not appropriate here, though issues of morality and Franciscan interests in the public square may be considered. 3) There will be no posts of individual daily of weekly reflections, nor any other item that appears to be personal blogging. These will be removed by the administrators. 4) There will be no posts for commercial goods, including religious articles or books, though if a person has read a particular book and wishes to recommend it, he may do so in a post which does not include a link to a commercial site. 5) There will be no posts about non-Franciscan devotions. It is assumed that members of this forum are Catholics who are familiar enough with popular piety to know of these. While we certainly do not disapprove of these, the details of such devotions are readily available elsewhere. We wish to keep the focus of this group to Franciscan issues. 6) Outright attacks are not tolerated and will result in the removal of the post and member who posts. Posts critical of Vatican II, any Pope, or the validity of the Mass either in the OF, or the EOF are included. Also included is any post affirming any other religion over Catholicism. 7) Personal attacks disparaging the character of any member are not allowed. This pertains to attacks on the individual only and not to the comments when the comment is identified as incorrect. 8) Administrators must be able to view and take action on all post and replies, so the blocking of any administrator by any member is prohibited. Any such blocks must be removed or the member will be removed. 9) No profanity will be tolerated. No lewd Facebook profile pictures will be tolerated and no lewd comments will be tolerated. 10) There will be no debates on, or contradictory replies to Catholic Doctrine, Dogma, or replies based on either. This is not a debate forum. 11) Messages sent between individuals as PMs are not to be made public without the consent of both parties to the conversation. 12) Once a thread is closed, further comments will be deleted, the refusal to adhere to the closure of a post may result in the removal of the member. 13) Those who post do so with the understanding that they have acknowledged and agreed to the rules of this forum, the rules serve as the warning and no additional warning is mandated before removal of a member.
