The advertorial placed by Dr. Ayo Fayose some days ago is in a bad taste. Fayose (while exercising his right to expression) went overboard when he warned Nigerians against voting for Buhari on the ground that Buhari might died in office. Every Nigerians of goodwill including President Jonathan promptly condemned the advertorial. We do not wish Buhari any evil. However, blaming President Jonathan for Fayoses advertorial indiscretion is callous, wicked and unnecessarily pedantic. Fayose is in his late fifties and capable of taking rational decisions. In my own view, he goofed. Even Punch Newspapers is equally guilty as it knows that the advert was in bad taste. The point is while Fayose is a supporter of Jonathan, (just like several Nigerians are either supporting Buhari or Jonathan), the advertorial does not emanate from or reflect the view of President Jonathan.
