The amount of dogs Im seeing and being tagged in e-mailed, pmd, rang about is ridiculous... The worst thing is these people have put no boundaries in place, and no training theyve laughed at the puppy while it nips the kids or bounces on the Cats or other family dogs, Theyve not corrected the puppies as they bomb at other dogs on the street and in the park, as its cute... Well wake up call, dogs grow and little nips are not little nips for long and you can no longer pull your shoes of them or move them of your bed, the puppy stage has gone and now you are left with an untrained Dog who doesnt know whats expected and is ruling your house... its the reason most attacks occur as dogs have never been corrected and when people try to suddenly implement boundaries its done in the wrong way resulting in attacks... So whats the solution?? Well get a behaviorist in or at least consult one for advice.. Thats the appropriate answer, but NO these people dump the dogs or worse have them destroyed at a vet as they are to lazy and selfish to put the time and money into help the dog whose issues Theyve created. The dog may be lucky and get a rescue space but realistically how many rescues have resources for reactive/aggressive dogs?? How many have the experience to turn these poor dogs around and give them new hope, very very few as even if the rescue is experienced mostly the fosters are not, so youve pulled this dog, its reactive what can you do, you cant rehab in kennels not enough to be able to safely send a dog into a standard foster anyway.. I am sick of seeing and being contacted for hard to handle dogs, out of control Dogs, ones that have bitten, Dogs that growl when they see other dogs, dogs that owners dont want round their kids, YOU made that Dog that way by being incompetent and lazy when they where puppies and now due to your negligence the dog is being dumped.. Makes my blood boil the audacity of some owners, who automatically think weve endless space and endless funds and youve a God given right to dump the problem Dog you created onto us.. Think about your actions as dogs are losing their lives daily and its heartbreaking when you cant help them because quite frankly their owners are utter gobshites!!!!!!
