The anatomical structure and complexity in the human brain helps us understand the electrical activity within the cognitive mechanism. The hindbrain another sensitive area comprises of the medulla oblongata, the pons, and the cerebellum. This area helps regulate heart activity and controls large portion of breathing. The medulla is part of the hindbrain that controls digestions, swallowing, and internal breathing (Sternberg, 2012). The medulla oblongata is an important component in the hindbrain that controls our heart rhythm and what helps the person keep alive. The pons is another anatomical component of the human brain that sends electrochemical signals from one brain area to the other. In the pons we are able to interpret what nerves and signal reach the face. This area connects to the RAS, reticular activating system (Sternberg, 2012). MFA in Media Design. Neuroscience.
