The angelic message was, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people... We above all people should recognize: The only real peace possible on this earth is the peace that comes from receiving the favor of God; Finding favor with God is not so much an action of our own which brings about His favor, as it is the work of God’s sovereign call. Otherwise, men and women who are living their lives like Rehab the Harlot; cheaters and swindlers like Matthew or Zachias the tax collectors; people whose life resembles the woman of Samaria who had five husbands and now has a live-in lover; those who are haters of authority or the government – corrupt or otherwise like Simon the Zealot; and even religious bigots and haters like a Saul of Tarsus - these, as well as a host of others would have never of known the favor or the peace of God if it was only to the good people that Jesus came. No, ours is the hope of the Gospel to ALL people.
