The announcement of an agreement between the Teamsters and Shippers Transport Express in Carson allowing drivers to decide whether to unionize is great news for the hardworking truck drivers who serve our local ports and thus make an important contribution to our economy. We know that many drivers have been misclassified as independent contractors and been victims of wage theft and poor working conditions.
