The answer to this week’s Sunday nail question, “Briefly explain why pterygium forms on the nail”? is: Many things cause this nail disorder including physical injury/trauma, burns, skin disorders such as lichen planus or allergic reactions. It can also be a hereditary condition and can occur on the top or bottom side of the nail. It is NOT the same as the cuticle. Pterygium is an abnormal skin and the cuticle is normal skin. Several gave correct answers, but not their full name and country of residence with your answer, so they didn’t quality for the randomly chosen (not by me). The weeks winner is: Tracy Anne Shelverton, Netherlands. The other 13 correct answers were Jacqueline Watt, Sarah Kerr, Sheena KIng , Beckie Turner, Ingrid Slatta, Victoria P Bartlett, Nola Kendrick, Claire Green, Allie Cantu, Bobbi Norton, Jo Silsbury, Kelly Shenton, Victoria Lys Hunter Kudos to all of you for your nail knowledge and special kudos the several repeat winners from other Sunday questions. I’ll be back next Sunday with another chance to win! #nail #nails #nailcondition #naileducation #nailschool #nailsalon #nailknowledge #manicure #nailsmagazine #scratchmagazine #nailtalkradio #nailpromagazine #nailbloggers #fingernails #naturalnail #nailhealth #healthynail #DougSchoon #naildamage #UVnail #Gelmanicure #UVgel
